Verônica Julian started her career as a costume designer within Independent cinema and advertising. She graduated in 1998 at Sesc Esmod, and in 1999 she signed her first feature-length film: Castle Ra-Tim-Bum (Castelo Rá-TIm-bum: O Filme), since then she has made several feature films including: Bingo: The King of the Mornings (Bingo: O Rei das Manhãs, 2017), Xingu (2011), Marighella (2019) and De Onde Eu Te Vejo (2016); and series, such as: Som & Fúria (Rede Globo, 2009), Felizes Para Sempre? (Rede Globo, 2015), Girls From Ipanema (Coisa Mais Linda, Netflix, 2019, seasons 1 and 2) and Brotherhood (Irmandade, Netflix, 2019). In theatre, Verônica Julian has had a long partnership with director Felipe Hirsch, designing the costumes for Avenida Dropsie (2009), Educação Sentimental do Vampiro (2007), A Tragédia Latino-Americana (2016), Fim (2019) and recently the adaptation on the musical Lazarus (2019), among many other projects.
The costume designer has received several award nominations such as the Shell award and the Brazilian Academy of Cinema award. In 2018, she received the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix for Best Costume for the film Bingo: The King of the Mornings, in 2007 the Contigo Prize for best costume for the play O Avarento, in 2000 the Guarany Prize for Best Costume Design for Castle Ra-Tim-Bum: The Movie, in 1998 the Sharp Award for best costume for the play Don Juan and the runner-up for the Smirnoff International Fashion Awards in 1996.
